LASA 2015

Pivot-ED participated in an event titled the Los Angeles Student Athlete Symposium (LASA).  The premise of the symposium has two goals. The first goal is to stress the importance of academic achievement above all else.  The second goal is to create awareness of the complicated process of becoming a student athlete.  This full day event is was a valuable experience that all high school student athletes benefited from.

We were able to partner with Los Angeles Unified School District to bring their schools hosted at Loyola Marymount University.  The keynote speaker was olympian Inger Miller.  The full day event was full of information that student athletes you could use as they make the transition from high school to college.  Students had a choice of selecting from a variety of workshops that included the Do's and Don't of social media, academic motivation, and student athlete's life on campus to name a few.
